- Christchurch- Christchurch Hospital – Radiology Service
- Full-time permanent position working 40 hours per week
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.
Are you highly organised, good with people and someone who naturally keeps track of the detail and makes sure things get done?
We are looking for a capable and proactive Administrator to join the Canterbury Radiology Service, with a particular focus on supporting the recruitment, onboarding and movement of our medical workforce.
This is an administrative coordination role working closely with our Radiology leadership team, recruitment colleagues and medical workforce. You will help coordinate the many administrative steps involved when Senior Medical Officers, Fellows and Resident Medical Officers are recruited, join our Service, visit us or move on.
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band 5/Profile 5 Step 1 to 3 (final placement step is dependent on skills, knowledge and experience)
For further information about the administration and clerical pay equity settlement please follow the link below:
PSA National Health Administration Collective Agreement - FINAL (tewhatuora.govt.nz)
What you'll be doing
At its heart, this role is about knowing what needs to happen, who needs to do it, and making sure it gets done.
On any given day you might be communicating with a prospective candidate, coordinating an interview with senior clinicians, tracking several appointments at different stages, arranging onboarding for someone about to start, following up outstanding documentation, or coordinating requirements for a visiting medical professional.
You'll help keep these processes organised and moving by:
- coordinating candidate communication, interviews and associated administration;
- tracking recruitment activity and proactively following up outstanding actions;
- coordinating administrative requirements between appointment and commencement;
- arranging onboarding and induction for new medical staff;
- maintaining accurate recruitment, onboarding and workforce records;
- coordinating administration for visiting health professionals and prospective trainees;
- supporting offboarding when members of our medical workforce leave; and
- keeping Service leadership informed about upcoming appointments, departures and outstanding actions.
What we're looking for
We're interested in what you can do, not simply the roles you've held before.
You'll need to be someone who can organise and coordinate multiple activities at the same time while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. You'll communicate confidently and professionally with a wide range of people and be comfortable following things up when they haven't happened.
You'll be able to demonstrate that you:
- are highly organised and can manage competing priorities and deadlines;
- take ownership of tasks and follow them through to completion;
- notice gaps, outstanding actions or potential problems and act on them;
- communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing;
- build positive working relationships with a wide range of people;
- maintain accurate records and have strong attention to detail;
- are confident using Microsoft Office and learning new systems;
- can appropriately manage confidential and sensitive information; and
- contribute positively to a busy, collaborative team.
You don't need to have worked in Radiology, healthcare or medical recruitment before. What matters is your ability to demonstrate the skills, judgement and approach needed to succeed.
If you're someone who likes creating order, keeping things moving and making sure people have a positive experience along the way, we'd like to hear from you.
