Work with an experienced team to develop contemporary nursing curricula in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that supports clinically and culturally safe nursing practice.

Collaborate in a vibrant research environment to advance nursing knowledge and practice and improve patient health outcomes.
The salary range for the position Senior Lecturer Range 1-2 (2026) is $107,916 - $152,711 (NZD) and the amount determined will take into account the candidate's qualifications and experience.
The employment setting will involve working with people across the lifespan and applicants will be required to comply with the requirements of the Vulnerable Children Act 2014 and the Vulnerable Children (Requirements for Safety Checks of Children's Workers) Regulations 2015.

Registered Nurse with a current annual practicing certificate (APC).
A PhD or equivalent in nursing or a related field.

Demonstrated engagement within the nursing sector, with community and Iwi partners, and external stakeholders.
Ability to contribute to research projects and mentor junior staff.

Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are seeking 10, regionally based, Regional Clinical Leads to help bring this new model of medical education to life. Opportunities are available across Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki/Whanganui and Nelson Marlborough, with one Primary Care Lead and one Hospital Lead appointed in each region.
As a Regional Clinical Lead, you will be a senior clinical and academic representative of the University in your region. Working with healthcare providers, iwi, community organisations, clinical educators and local partners, you will help create high-quality clinical learning experiences that prepare future doctors for practice in the communities they will ultimately serve.
These roles offer the opportunity to combine your clinical expertise, regional knowledge and leadership capability to help shape a new medical school from the ground up. You'll contribute to an initiative designed to have a lasting impact on healthcare access, health equity and the future medical workforce while supporting the next generation of doctors.
The Regional Clinical Lead - Primary Care role focuses on learning experiences delivered through primary care and community settings.
The Regional Clinical Lead - Hospital role focuses on learning experiences delivered within hospital-based and acute clinical environments.
Working together, both roles within the region contribute to an integrated learning experience for students across Years 2-4 of the programme.
Candidates can indicate their preferred region or regions and role type as part of the application process.
Salary will be based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. These are three-year appointments at 7.5 hours a week (0.2FTE), with flexibility according to regional scale and cohort size.

The Position
Skilled Medical is seeking an Intensive Care (ICU) Registrar to join the Intensive Care Unit at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital commencing on 2 March or 3 August 2026.
Health Service
This ICU is accredited as a C12 unit under the CICM training program, with endorsements for General, Rural, and Paediatric training. They actively support CICM candidates, helping them prepare for Part 1 and Part 2 exams, and have a history of trainees successfully completing their CICM research projects during their time in the department. Non-training registrars have also published research projects in peer-reviewed journals. All registrars have the chance to get involved in quality improvement and research initiatives, contributing to the ongoing advancement of our department.
The successful candidate would join a team of 12-14 Registrars and a diverse group of nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals. The ICU provides critical care for both adult and paediatric patients, managing complex cases and transporting patients within Hawkes Bay and to tertiary referral centres. You'll have opportunities to be involved in rotary wing and road transfers.

Hawkes Bay Hospital is a 400-bed secondary-level public hospital in Hastings, serving a population of over 180,000 people. They offer both acute and elective care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties, including paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, and more. Although they don't provide cardiothoracic and neurosurgery, they are supported by a strong regional ICU team, ensuring comprehensive care for a diverse patient population.
