Our Head Gardeners play an important role in building thriving communities at Arvida.
At Bethlehem Country Club, you will lead your team in providing a park-life environment through planning, directing, and overseeing the maintenance of gardens, lawns, and landscaping to an excellent standard.
You will set and oversee the garden schedule, provide guidance and direction to the team, and ensure all work is carried out according to design briefs, within budget, and in accordance with correct procedure - all with a continuous improvement mindset.
We run natural, non-toxic systems in our villages and encourage a values-led working environment. This is an opportunity to truly make an impact on our resident's lives and their day-to-day surroundings.
This is a full time role working Monday - Friday. You will hold a Level 4 qualification in Horticulture, have an eye for design, extensive knowledge of plants and their habitats, demonstrate an interest in organics and sustainability, and experience in managing and developing a team.
To tatou kaitono pai | Our ideal candidate must have
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar role or 5 years of horticultural experience
- Level 4 Horticulture qualification
- Current first aid certificate
- NZ Drivers License for village vehicles
- Strong understanding of plants, growth patterns, and safe work practices
- Ability to coach, motivate, and lead team members
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- High motivation with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Interest in interacting with older New Zealanders

We’re looking for a dedicated Cook to join our team at Taupo village. This is more than just a kitchen job — it’s a chance to be part of something meaningful, where every meal you prepare brings joy, comfort, and nourishment to the lives of our residents.
As a Cook, you will play an essential role in creating fresh, wholesome meals in a supportive and team-focused environment. Your work will help ensure our residents enjoy nutritious food that supports their health and wellbeing.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking production meals for our care centre as well as short order meals for the café, based on established menus and dietary needs
- Maintaining an “audit-ready” kitchen by adhering to Summerset’s Food Control Plan
- Working collaboratively with kitchen staff, care teams and management to deliver an exceptional dining experience
This is a casual position with shifts offered on an as-needed basis.

- Previous experience as a Cook, ideally in a healthcare or residential care setting

- Preparing and cooking production meals for our care centre as well as short order meals for the café, based on established menus and dietary needs.
- Maintaining an “audit-ready” kitchen by adhering to Summerset’s Food Control Plan.
- Working collaboratively with kitchen staff, care teams and management to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
This is a causal role, working on as and when needed basis.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, loves bringing people together over food, and enjoys going the extra mile for their customers. You will bring a warm and positive approach to everything you do, along with:
- Previous experience as a Cook, ideally in a healthcare or residential care setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards Certification in safe food handling (preferred)
- Confidence to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and holidays as required

We’re looking for a hardworking, caring Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our warm and welcoming Whangarei village team. This role is all about making sure our residents feel comfortable, safe, and truly at home.
As a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant, you'll be a key part of creating a clean, uplifting, and homelike environment for residents, their whānau, and fellow team members.
Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Ensuring high-quality cleaning across resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, laundry, and kitchen facilities
- Laundering, folding and returning residents’ clothing and linens with care and attention
- Labelling, mending and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
- Supporting infection control measures and health and safety procedures
- Building friendly, respectful relationships with residents and understanding their unique needs
This is a permanent role working four shifts per week, scheduled across a seven-day roster from Monday to Sunday (Start and finish times to be negotiated).
