About the Role
The Cardiac Cath Lab at Christchurch Hospital is looking for an experienced Medical Imaging Technologist to join the team on a part-time permanent basis. We are looking for a flexible thinking MIT to work in this exciting, high pressure environment within an experienced team.
In this role, you will:
- Provide high-quality imaging services, ensuring compliance with departmental standards and protocols
- Understand and apply techniques like Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), and Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE) for heart and vessel imaging
- Confirm patient identity, explain procedures, and ensure informed consent, Maintain patient privacy and cultural sensitivity
- Complete administrative tasks with a high level of detail in a timely manner
- Participate in professional development, training, and research projects
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement in service quality
About You
You will bring a proven track record in general X-ray, along with a strong commitment to developing your skills and expertise within the Cath Lab environment. Current New Zealand registration as a Medical Imaging Technologist is required.
This position suits an experienced, fast learner who communicates clearly, works collaboratively, and thrives within an inter‑disciplinary clinical team. You take pride in maintaining high clinical standards, embrace ongoing learning, and contribute positively to a supportive and efficient Cath Lab service.
To be successful in this position you will also demonstrate the following:
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse range of people
- Ability to work under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to work in a MDT, with a team player attitude
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Minimum 2 years General X-ray experience
- Cath Lab experience preferred but not essential

About the Role
We are looking for energetic and motivated Healthcare Assistants to work alongside a dynamic multidisciplinary team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit team. These positions are fixed-term for 12 months and we are open to considering 0.4FTE to 1.0FTE (16 hours - 40 hours per week). In this role you will be required to work alongside the nursing staff to maintain a safe and clean, well-stocked work environment.
You will be responsible for:
- Maintenance and setting up equipment
- Stock control

About the Service
The Neonatal Service at Christchurch Women’s Hospital is an acute service providing secondary/tertiary care to new-born babies born prematurely or with surgical, congenital and medical complications following birth. We are a purpose built 44 bedded unit compromised of 12 intensive care and 32 special care cots with our catchment area covering approximately 20,000 square kilometres of the South Island.
About You
You will require the following skills and experience:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work across all shifts
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work autonomously as well as a team member
- Excellent time management skills and a willingness to learn.
- High level of confidentiality and the ability to work well under pressure
- Knowledge of infection control aspects of cleaning and setting up of equipment – Desirable but not essential
- An understanding of effective stock/supply control practices – Desirable but not essential

We are looking for an energetic and motivated Healthcare Assistant to work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit team in our milk room. In this role you will be preparing infant feeds as ordered for the infants within the neonatal service. Hours of Work: 56 hours per fortnight, comprising 7 shifts of 8 hours each. The number of shifts worked in each week may vary depending on operational requirements.

Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a high level of confidentiality and the ability to work well under pressure is essential in this role.
Other key requirements for the role are:

Why is this a great role
- This is a relatively new role for the South Island Eating Disorders (SIEDS) which is aimed to improve the experience for young tangata whai ora (up to the age of 25 years) and their families and whanau on their treatment journey through our service.
- The role will act as a bridge between clinicians and tangata whaiora to improve communication and clinical outcomes. Pathways to care and access to care for tangata whai ora will improve, and this will have a beneficial effect on their experience while they are in the service.
- The lived experience voice and perspective have an important role to play in the treatment and recovery for people who have an eating disorder. This role is relatively new to our service which specialises in the treatment of eating disorders and is an exciting opportunity to explore and continue to develop ways to enhance the relationships between young tangata whaiora and the treating team, with a view to improving and maximising treatment outcomes.
- You will also work with families and whanau. Given the important role they play in supporting their family member and their direct involvement in treatment we anticipate they will feel supported while they walk alongside their family whanau member.
Benefits
We are a specialist team treating people who have a range of eating disorders. You will be based at Hillmorton Hospital and will work across our community and inpatient teams from where we provide direct clinical care to young tangata whai ora in the Waitaha Canterbury area and liaison, supervision and support to specialist mental health clinicians throughout the South Island.
You will develop peer relationships with young people up to the age of 25 who are being treated by SIEDS. Your lived experience will inspire hope and offer encouragement in their journey through the service.
You will be a member of the multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the team culture and developing relationships with your SIEDS colleagues.
Using clear communication and being able to articulate peer support principles, values and tasks. Including contributing to written documentation and quality initiatives.

You will be working with young tangata whai ora, developing peer relationships with them which are based on mutuality and authenticity.
You will use your lived experience to inspire hope and offer encouragement in their journey through the service.
You will be a member of the multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the team culture and developing relationships with your SIEDS colleagues.
You will use clear communication and be able to articulate peer support principles, values and tasks. Including contributing to written documentation and quality initiatives.
At times peer support maybe provided in a group setting –Training to be provided if and when group facilitation skills are needed.
You will challenge stigma and discrimination and proactively promote inclusion and diversity.
About you
- As a youth peer support worker, you must have your own lived experience as a young person of having had an eating disorder which required you to access treatment.
- It is desirable to have a sound knowledge of the community and NGO mental health sector, particularly peer support community providers so that practical information and connections can be made with the people you are working with.

About the Role
Working closely with the clinical team, you will:
- Provide a high level of customer service and support to consumers and clinical teams.
- Coordinate inpatient and outpatient appointments, including planning, scheduling, and communicating appointment details to consumers.
- Manage waiting lists for First Specialist Assessments (FSA) and clinic appointments in collaboration with surgeons and service staff.
- Consider individual consumer and clinician needs when coordinating appointments to support person-centred care.
- Respond to consumer enquiries and requests with empathy, professionalism, and discretion.
- Provide telephone and administrative support in line with service requirements.
- Provide administration support to the multidisciplinary team (MDT), including coordination of meetings and information.
- Ensure patient management systems and associated clinical systems are kept accurate and up to date.
- Work collaboratively with the administration and clinical teams to identify opportunities to improve the consumer experience and reduce barriers to accessing the service.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive clinical and personal information.
- Support other members of the administration team as required.
About You
You will be an experienced administrator who is comfortable working in a complex and sometimes challenging environment. You will understand that consumers accessing this service may have experienced difficult and sensitive health journeys and will bring empathy, compassion, and professionalism to every interaction.
You will have:
- Previous administration experience, ideally within a healthcare environment.
- NCEA Level 2 or equivalent, including strong literacy and numeracy skills, or relevant experience.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- The ability to communicate with empathy, sensitivity, and compassion.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
