About the Role
Social Work Services at Christchurch Hospital are looking for experienced health Social Workers to join our team working across the Christchurch campus in fixed term positions. Our team is a professional and highly skilled Social Work team, who display a positive attitude and enthusiasm for health social work. We enjoy the challenge of delivering patient centred care in a fluid and dynamic multidisciplinary environment. We respond to a diverse range of health and social needs, where no two days are the same.
The available role is fixed term 0.5FTE (20 hours per week) until 27th March 2027. Shifts will be Wednesday to Friday between 8:00am - 3:30pm. We are also seeking expressions of interest for 0.4FTE (16 hours per week) until 5th Jan 2027. This role's shifts would be Monday and Tuesday, 7:30am - 4:00pm. These could be combined as a 0.9FTE role (36 hours per week), please indicate your preference and availability for shifts in your cover letter.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Psychosocial assessment, monitoring and support of people within the service in accordance with ANZASW Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and the SWRB Core Competency Standards
- Attendance and participation in the social work team and staff meetings
- Providing cover to our 24hr social work service as required on a rostered basis
- Participation in service development and quality assurance
initiatives/processes
About You
This role will see you working alongside different multidisciplinary teams so being a team player who can quickly adapt will be essential to your success, as well as the following skills/ experience:
- A passion for working with adults, children and their families/whânau
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to people from all walks of life
- Hospital experience is advantageous, as is experience with Care and Protection, Family Harm, and Trauma
- Knowledge of te ao Mâori, tikanga, and te reo Mâori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Competency in the use of digital technology
- You will be able to work effectively in teams and independently
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work within a Multidisciplinary team
- The ability to flex and adapt to meet work demands
- Current APC and NZ Registration is required

We are looking for an experienced Administration Team Leader to join our team and provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and technical expertise to our administrative team. About the role
As Administration Team Leader, you will:
- Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and technical support to the administrative team.

About you
You will be an experienced administrator and confident people leader who enjoys working in a busy healthcare environment. You will bring a strong customer and patient focus, excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm and diplomatic when dealing with sensitive or challenging situations.
You will also have:
- At least two years' supervisory experience leading a small to medium-sized team.
- Proven success in an administration role.
- A strong customer and patient focus.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Expert-level knowledge and experience using SI PICS (South Island Patient Information Care System).
- Knowledge and understanding of Health NZ Planned Care / Elective Services guidelines and their practical application.
- Experience working with data management and information systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal and diplomacy skills, with the ability to manage sensitive issues and negotiate and influence where required.
- A demonstrated track record of leading or contributing to service improvement initiatives.
It would be an advantage if you have:
- Experience working within a tertiary hospital environment.
- A qualification in people management, business, information management or a related field.

About the Role
The Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit is a dynamic, patient-focused service providing a wide range of diagnostic and interventional endoscopy procedures. As a Registered Nurse, you will work rostered shifts Monday to Friday between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm and participate in an on-call roster after hours.
In this role you will care for patients undergoing both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures, while working within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. This is a fast-paced clinical environment where flexibility, strong clinical judgement, and excellent teamwork are essential.
We have permanent roles available and are open to considering FTE from 0.6FTE - 1.0FTE (24 - 40 hours per week). We also have a fixed-term position available due to parental leave at 0.8FTE until 14/09/2027. About the Service
The Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit undertakes more than 14,000 diagnostic and interventional procedures annually and provides specialised gastrointestinal and respiratory services to the Canterbury population. The service also acts as a secondary and tertiary referral centre for the South Island.
The unit operates from a purpose-built facility at Christchurch Hospital, featuring eight procedure rooms and two recovery areas across two floors. About the Team/Service/Location
Each Rural Nurse Specialist clinic is unique and provides health services to the community that they serve. The areas that you would spend time in include the three northern sites; Karamea, Ngakawau and Reefton; Moana located centrally; and the five Southern sites; Hari Hari, Whataroa, Franz, Fox, and Haast. The geographical distance from Karamea to Haast is 510km, but the distance each RNS covers differs depending on location. Working as an RNS within all the clinics, you will be the first ‘port of call’ in many cases for both the residents and tourists travelling through the area. You will provide clinic-based services during the day – mainly primary care, district nursing and ‘on-call’ services as per a roster. As an RNS you will use your assessment skills and experience to provide primary and emergency care, with the support from the wider team, a system of standing Orders, and PRIME training.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Accident and Emergency, Community, or Primary Care settings.

What you'll be doing
At its heart, this role is about knowing what needs to happen, who needs to do it, and making sure it gets done.

This is a varied role where no two days are quite the same. You will be an important first point of contact for parents, whānau, visitors and staff, while providing the administrative support that helps our clinical team deliver safe and effective care.

About the role
As Ward Clerk, you will provide a range of administrative and clerical support, including:
- Providing reception and telephone support for the Neonatal Service.
- Welcoming and appropriately directing parents, whānau and visitors to the NICU.
- Responding promptly and professionally to telephone calls and accurately recording messages.
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring patient privacy requirements are always upheld.
- Supporting the Associate Clinical Nurse Manager with staffing requirements, including contacting staff when additional cover is required and maintaining accurate roster information in Microster.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient information, clinical documentation and electronic records.
- Preparing and maintaining patient files, filing laboratory and radiology reports, monitoring file movement and ensuring documentation is available when required.
- Updating patient management systems, including admissions, discharges, transfers and other relevant patient information.
- Supporting outpatient and follow-up appointments and communicating arrangements to parents.
- Maintaining accurate neonatal activity, referral and statistical information.
- Assisting with travel arrangements for NICU patients and maintaining accurate transport documentation.
- Providing general office support including stationery management, photocopying, incoming mail and maintenance requests.
- Providing administrative support for Ophthalmology clinics held within the NICU.
- Supporting parents and rooming-in families with practical administrative requirements.
- Assisting with ensuring breast milk labels are available and daily meal menus are completed and submitted to Food Services.
- Participating in team activities, staff orientation and a positive team culture.
- Following Neonatal Service and hospital emergency procedures and maintaining accurate fire and evacuation information.
About you

About the Team/Service/Location
Each Rural Nurse Specialist clinic is unique and provides health services to the community that they serve. The areas that you would spend time in include southern site Fox Glacier. You will be the first ‘port of call’ in many cases for both the residents and tourists travelling through the area. You will provide clinic-based services during the day – mainly primary care, district nursing and ‘on-call’ services as per a roster. As an RNS you will use your assessment skills and experience to provide primary and emergency care, with the support from the wider team, a system of standing Orders, and PRIME training.

your specialist practice, contribute to service improvements and help deliver
exceptional patient care across the intensive care service and the pharmacy.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Provision of a team based full clinical pharmacy service including medication reconciliation, therapeutic drug monitoring and answering medicines information enquiries
- Involvement in interdisciplinary education
- Supervision, training and support of pharmacists, technicians, interns and students
- Participation in the on-call service

About You

The ability to problem-solve, make key decisions and confront/resolve issues is imperative to ensuring the provision of safe effective evidence-based quality care to the infants and families of the Neonatal Services. Essential requirements:
- A Minimum of 5 years recent neonatal intensive care experience.
- Demonstrates advance nursing skills comparable to senior nurse or expert PDRP with experience and understanding of the neonatal journey working across all levels of neonatal care.
