About the Role

We are seeking a Medical Specialist to join the Hyperbaric Unit at Christchurch Hospital on a 1-year fixed-term basis at 0.2 FTE.

This is an opportunity to work within a specialised hyperbaric service, contributing your medical expertise to the care of patients requiring hyperbaric assessment and treatment. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the delivery of safe, high-quality specialist care within the Hyperbaric Unit.

This role would suit a Medical Specialist looking for a part-time opportunity to complement their existing clinical practice, while working within a unique and specialised area of medicine.

The Hyperbaric Unit at Christchurch Hospital provides a specialised clinical service as part of the wider Canterbury health system.

You will join a dedicated multidisciplinary team working collaboratively to provide high-quality care to patients requiring hyperbaric treatment. The role offers the opportunity to work within a specialist environment and contribute to a service that supports patients with complex clinical needs.

About you

We are looking for a Medical Specialist who brings sound clinical judgement, a collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

You will have:

• Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and vocational registration in an appropriate scope of practice
• Experience working as a Medical Specialist within a hospital or specialist clinical environment
• A commitment to safe, high-quality and patient-centred care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• An interest in, or experience relevant to, hyperbaric medicine would be advantageous
